A scrivener (or scribe) was a person who could read and write or who wrote letters to court and legal documents. Scriveners were people who made their living by writing or copying written material. This usually indicated secretarial and administrative duties such as dictation and keeping business, judicial, and historical records for kings, nobles, temples, and cities.
To run Scrivener on both Windows and Mac machines, you will need to purchase a separate license for each platform. However, if you already own Scrivener for macOS and want to buy Scrivener for Windows or vice versa, you are eligible for a cross-grade discount.
Scrivener Para Mac Vs Scrivener Para Windows
Currently watching Blaze/Campfire development with some interest. Campfire Pro is a great organizational tool and works tons better than scrivener when it comes to plot planning and character development. My hope is that they will add a full fledged editor in Blaze when it comes available.
The compilation feature is one that many self-published authors use (and often struggle with). Like many complicated features, the more powerful it is, the harder it can be to learn. Those who learn the ins and outs of the compilation feature are able to format, add scene separator images, and juggle whole anthologies with ease.
Finally, Scrivener allows self-publishing writers to export or print manuscripts into almost any format. You can save your project for paperback, hardcover, and eBook without having to create separate documents for each.
Scrivener doubles as an organization tool, one of the things that drew me to the Mac version in the first place. I used a separate outliner and text editor to write the first half of my first novel; Scrivener allowed me to merge the two, so that the items of my outline contained the chapters they were describing.
The quick answer is yes. This tool allows the writer to organize their story structure using which ever parameters they see fit for their genre and writing type. Time spent on building characters easily filters over to other parts of the manuscript and be saved for other projects without rebuilding. The tutorial videos are quick and informative, using practical examples of the story Pride and Prejudice and the folk tale, the 3 little pigs.
